Amanda (Mandy) Meys​

Specialist Physiotherapist (Paediatrics) & Director, Nurture Paediatrics, NZ
Amanda (Mandy) Meys is a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, doctoral researcher, and Director of Nurture Paediatrics, a multidisciplinary child and whānau-centred allied health service based in Tauranga, Aotearoa New Zealand. She has extensive clinical experience supporting children and adolescents with musculoskeletal conditions, persistent pain, concussion, hypermobility, rehabilitation needs, and developmental challenges.
 
Mandy is currently completing a Doctor of Health Science at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Her research focuses on best-practice management of childhood musculoskeletal pain in New Zealand primary care, with interests in early intervention, equity, culturally responsive care, and strengthening community care pathways for tamariki experiencing pain. Her work seeks to bridge research and clinical practice to improve outcomes for children and their whānau.

Through Nurture Paediatrics, Mandy leads pain management programmes that combine evidence-informed physiotherapy, pain education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and digital health approaches. She is passionate about reducing the long-term impact of persistent pain, empowering young people to confidently re-engage in meaningful activities, and building clinician capability in paediatric pain care.
 
Mandy is an active contributor to national and international paediatric pain networks and is committed to advancing equitable, child-centred pain care across Aotearoa New Zealand.
